Scope Report
The ENT did a scope of Cooper's trachea today to determine the extent of damage from last weeks trachea attempt. The good news is the rupture is healing and a dye test revealed no leakage. Cooper appears to have no brain damage; however he will need to be sedated for another 2 weeks for the healing to complete. This is two more weeks of not being up and alert and learning. We pray that God is working on the things Cooper needs. At the end of the 2 weeks, another scope will be done and then a trachea tube inserted. In the meantime his red blood cells are low and transfusions have been required. We are grateful for the support of the Knoxville, Seymour and Sevierville communities as well as the prayers from around the world!

I am so glad to hear that there has been no major damage so to speak. I pray for you guys daily and the whole family. My daughter Chloe was in the NICU when Cooper was there and Emily and I have been keeping in touch since. I am not sure if you have anything set up but when Chloe was in, my local church had set up a MEDIC drive in Chloe's name. It is something to look into if you are able.(if not let me know and I'll see what I can do) At the end of her stay when she no longer needed the transfussions, we were issued a check for the rest of the balance that she did not need. If you guys need some more info call or email me. It would be great to have one in Cooper's name. Every little bit helps and it's a great way for the community to help when they really don't know what else they can do.
